   Agency Reports 18% Gap Between Claude Enterprise Bill and Repository Estimates

   In an unverified Reddit account, a 30-person development agency said it moved from expensed Max plans to Claude Enterprise this summer, increasing its bill about fourfold. It uses OpenTelemetry to track Claude Code costs by repository, but its estimates were 18% apart from the invoice last month. The account attributes most of the gap to project managers doing client work in chat, which OpenTelemetry does not capture, along with list-price estimates and sessions without a git remote. The agency is also trialing tokenshift because it estimates about one-third of client work happens in Codex, but said this does not resolve invoice reconciliation.
