   Alibaba DAMO unveils automotive-grade RISC-V CPU IP XuanTie E908A

   At the RISC-V China Summit in Shenzhen on October 19, Alibaba's DAMO Academy released the automotive-enhanced XuanTie E908A processor and published its first processor roadmap aimed at autonomous driving and embodied intelligence. DAMO says the E908A is the first RISC-V CPU IP to meet both ASIL-B and ASIL-D standards, with a single-point fault metric (SPFM) above 90% for the first time in the industry, targeting safety islands, domain controllers and in-vehicle gateways. The lab also said the next-generation automotive part, C950A, targets five times the performance of current RISC-V automotive products, and that the XuanTie C950 delivers more than 10% gains over mainstream conventional architectures on four Agentic workloads, reaching 43 tokens per second on Qwen3.8-Flash-Next.

   Alibaba DAMO says XuanTie RISC-V chips have shipped over 6 billion units

   At the sixth RISC-V China Summit in Shenzhen, Alibaba DAMO Academy chief scientist Meng Jianyi said XuanTie chips have so far shipped more than 6 billion units, according to IT之家 citing 科创板日报. XuanTie is DAMO's RISC-V processor IP brand spanning C, R, E and XT-Link series, and its cumulative shipments first passed 4 billion units in 2024, the report said. The report also said DAMO unveiled its first automotive-grade enhanced chip, the E908A, at the summit.
