- Microsoft adds Copilot Interactive Canvas to Excel, plus Skill Builder and Skill Recorder
According to an October 12 NeoWin blog post relayed by AIbase, Microsoft has added a Copilot Interactive Canvas to Excel that lets users turn workbook data into dynamic, auto-refreshing interactive reports using plain-language instructions. The canvas is tied to the underlying sheet, so charts and layout update themselves when source data changes, and users can keep asking Copilot to adjust layout and emphasis; the feature is initially open to Microsoft 365 Insiders. Microsoft also packaged Skill Builder, said to launch officially in October and able to distill instructions, past prompts or examples into reusable skills, and Skill Recorder, planned for Insiders in late October, which captures a demonstrated workflow as a rerunnable skill.
