- IDC: OCP-certified equipment spending to reach $892B by 2030
The OCP Foundation published a new IDC market study estimating that annual global spending on OCP-recognized IT equipment will grow from $154 billion in 2025 to $892 billion in 2030, a 42% compound annual growth rate. AI-related infrastructure is projected at $628 billion, about 70% of that market, with servers remaining the largest category at roughly $814 billion, or 91% of OCP-recognized IT equipment spending, driven mainly by GPU-accelerated systems. IDC also raised its 2029 forecast for OCP-recognized equipment to $800 billion from $295 billion a year earlier, and expects such equipment to account for about 51% of total infrastructure spending in the market it studies by 2030.
科技新报 · 🔥 0 - SK hynix unveils 3D FeNAND for analog compute-in-memory AI
SK hynix has published research showing how ferroelectric 3D NAND (3D FeNAND) can perform analog compute-in-memory (A-CiM), with the work appearing in an IEEE paper. The approach stores data and controls current via the polarization state of ferroelectric material, allowing a single cell to produce multiple current states suited to AI weight data, and lets NAND carry out multiply-accumulate (MAC) operations inside the memory to cut data movement. Simulated results under die-size constraints show up to 20x higher throughput and up to 5,000x better energy efficiency than conventional 2D non-volatile memory arrays; the company also presented the technology at OCP Global Summit 2026, saying NAND could eventually support data center and AI workloads beyond storage.
