   Moderna President Says AI Can Accelerate Personalized Drug Discovery

   Moderna President Stephen Hoge said AI already assists with mRNA sequence and protein design, clinical-trial design, and patient recruitment, though he described these as company claims. He said Moderna’s personalized cancer-vaccine workflow can incorporate information from up to 34 new antigens, use as many as nine doses, and take about six weeks from receiving a qualified sample to returning the drug to a hospital. Hoge cautioned that treatment efficacy and durability still require human studies, and that faster discovery does not accelerate manufacturing, recruitment, regulatory approval, or clinical validation.

   OpenAI acquires Orchestra Bio to add drug-development agents to Rosalind

   OpenAI said it has acquired Orchestra Bio, a platform that helps biopharma teams coordinate drug development, and will combine its team and technology with Rosalind, OpenAI's AI models and tools for life sciences research.    Bloomberg reports that Moderna founder and biotech billionaire Noubar Afeyan called for urgent regulation of the artificial intelligence agents tech firms are selling, warning that waiting for a disaster risks repeating the drug industry's past mistakes. Indian telecoms tycoon Sunil Bharti Mittal then called for immediate regulatory frameworks for AI, saying governments should not wait for a serious rogue agent incident before acting.    OpenAI pricing page lists unannounced gpt-rosalind-discovery life sciences model

   TestingCatalog reported that OpenAI's API pricing page now lists an unannounced model, gpt-rosalind-discovery, under a "Life sciences models" section next to the already public gpt-rosalind-research, with identical pricing of $5 per million input tokens, $0.50 per million cached input tokens and $25 per million output tokens. There is still no blog post, help article or system card for it, and MIT Technology Review China said the model documentation pages return 404 errors, leaving pricing as the only published information. Outside observers guess from the "discovery" name that it targets drug discovery, but its purpose, its relationship to the research model and any real gains remain undisclosed.
