- Microsoft Copilot Notebooks turns project files into drafts
TechRepublic reports that Microsoft Copilot Notebooks gathers selected project materials so users can ask questions, develop drafts, and, through the Frontier early-access program, create and edit Office files within a notebook. Microsoft documentation, as cited by TechRepublic, says references can include Word documents, Excel workbooks, PowerPoint presentations, and Copilot Pages, with Copilot using them to answer questions and help draft content. The report cautions that generated deliverables may use only a subset of attached references and advises users to verify AI-generated answers.

Databricks Blog says Lakeflow Connect adds fully managed connectors for productivity tools and AI platforms, including Jira, Confluence, Monday.com, GitHub, OpenAI and Anthropic, alongside sources such as Notion, SharePoint and Google Drive. Data is incrementally ingested into governed Unity Catalog tables through a point-and-click UI or API, while unstructured files can be converted to text with ai_parse_document for retrieval and downstream AI agents.

IskayPet, a pet care company operating more than 330 stores across Spain, Portugal and France, built a corporate knowledge assistant on Amazon Bedrock Managed Knowledge Bases, according to an AWS Machine Learning Blog case study. The assistant answers employee questions about retail operations, veterinary care, people and onboarding, and procurement in four languages across three countries, using a native SharePoint connector rather than migrating hundreds of existing documents. AWS says the team built the store-facing frontend and the AWS architecture and deployment with Kiro running Claude Haiku 4.5, and that in roughly the first two months in production, time to find an operational answer fell from 3–5 minutes to about 7 seconds, with around 95 percent less time spent searching; the solution is expected to handle roughly 100,000 queries per month.

An AWS technical post describes how Amazon Quick and Amazon Bedrock Knowledge Bases enforce access control in retrieval-augmented generation. The two-stage design first filters candidates using ACLs stored in the vector index, then verifies each candidate at query time by calling the authoritative source—such as Google Drive APIs via service-account impersonation—so only authorised passages reach the LLM. AWS says this avoids stale or mis-mapped permissions from replicated ACL syncs, and cites Mondelēz International, which it says has deployed Amazon Quick for more than 35,000 employees across four regions.
