   Brief AI Assistance Linked to Lower Persistence in Difficult Tasks

   A UC Berkeley-led study of 1,222 participants across randomized controlled trials found that removing ChatGPT assistance reduced persistence and independent performance on fraction problems and an SAT reading task, with differences appearing after roughly 10 minutes of AI use.
