- CXMT swings to profit on AI-driven DRAM demand, but shares fall
ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) issued preliminary results on the evening of Oct 16, guiding to first-nine-month revenue of RMB 265–270 billion, up 726%–741.5% year on year, and net profit of RMB 131–132.5 billion, reversing a RMB 5.28 billion net loss a year earlier. The company attributed the turnaround to fast-growing global AI compute demand since the second half of 2025, which it said caused DRAM shortages and price increases. On the morning of Oct 19 its shares fell as much as 6.31%, erasing about RMB 192.7 billion in market value and dropping it from the top of A-share market-cap rankings; TechNews put the decline at 6.5%. Based on the guidance, third-quarter revenue rose 589%–619% year on year but sequential growth slowed versus the second quarter, and both Longsys and TrendForce noted DRAM price increases had narrowed.

Longsys (江波龙) said on Oct 15 in a preliminary earnings forecast that it expects net profit attributable to shareholders of RMB 14–14.9 billion for January–September 2026, up 1,864.55%–1,990.84% from RMB 713 million a year earlier, on revenue of RMB 38–40 billion (up 127.08%–139.03%) and adjusted net profit of RMB 13.8–14.8 billion. For the third quarter alone it projects revenue of RMB 13.9–15.9 billion and adjusted net profit of RMB 3.753–4.753 billion, and said operating cash flow turned positive in the quarter. The company attributed the swing to revenue and profit growth and to the memory industry moving from a consumer price cycle to an AI-driven technology cycle, saying UFS 4.1, mSSD and ePOP5x products have reached volume commercial use with major customers and that edge-AI cooperation now extends to AMD and Qualcomm. The figures are preliminary and unaudited, pending the formal quarterly report.
