   Google opens SynthID Detector to everyone, adds partner watermarks

   Google on Tuesday made its SynthID Detector website (synthid.com) available globally, letting anyone check whether an image, video or audio clip was AI-generated or AI-edited. The tool is free but requires signing in with a Google, OpenAI or Apple account, and it now reads SynthID watermarks from Google, OpenAI, NVIDIA and Kakao, with Apple Intelligence support promised "soon." Previously the detector was limited to journalists, "media professionals" and trusted testers, leaving Gemini or OpenAI's site as the only ways to check.

   South Korea’s AI for All program to begin pilots in October

   South Korea’s government-backed “AI for All” program is set to begin pilot operations in October, with formal services planned for December. SK Telecom, Kakao and KT are developing agentic AI services for tasks such as reservations, applications and payments, using different entry points including calls, KakaoTalk and an integrated service ecosystem.
