  1. Anthropic's Claude Science agents produce first complete ultraviolet all-sky map

Anthropic published a full ultraviolet all-sky map built by Johns Hopkins astrophysicist Brice Ménard using Claude Science, whose agents gathered and cross-calibrated public UV data from GALEX, Swift, FIMS/SPEAR and others, then inferred the roughly one-third of the sky no UV telescope had observed — including much of the galactic plane. The map also folds in UV brightness estimates for 119 million stars derived from Gaia visible-light measurements, and per 36Kr, Ménard says the filled-in regions match real measurements to about 10%. Each pixel is labelled as measured or inferred with error ranges; some users on X argued a map that is one-third inferred is not truly "complete."
