- OptiScaler ports AMD FSR 4.1.2 to Intel Arc XMX cores
The OptiScaler modding community has ported AMD FSR 4.1.2 neural upscaling models to Intel Arc GPUs using modified INT8 DLLs optimized for Xe Matrix Extensions (XMX). Community tests cited by Wccftech and IT之家 found FSR 4.1.2 Lite approaching native XeSS SR timing, including 101.5 FPS and 0.75 ms upscaling on an Arc A770 versus 101.1 FPS and 0.84 ms for XeSS SR. Testers also reported better image quality than XeSS SR, but that claim remains subjective, while compatibility is experimental and limited to a DirectX 12 execution path.
