  1. Monday.com launches Harmony, a voice AI platform for sales calls

Monday.com has launched Harmony, a voice AI platform that calls sales leads, qualifies them and hands the best ones to human reps, aimed at mid-market and large companies in the US, UK, Australia and Singapore. Harmony runs on voice technology from OneAI, which Monday.com bought in May for $14.1M in cash according to a company filing, and uses a set of small models each trained for one job rather than a single large model; the company claims replies in about 200 milliseconds. Monday.com said Harmony reaches up to 70% of the people it calls but did not share how it measured this, and it did not publish prices; early user Bright Car Finance, a UK car finance broker, said Harmony helped it close 9% more deals in less than a year.

  2. Surfer AI Tracker review: testing AI citation monitoring

TechRadar reviewed Surfer AI Tracker, a paid add-on that runs a user's buyer-style prompts across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, scrapes the answers a real user would see, and reports mention rate, average position, a blended visibility score, cited sources and sentiment, alongside competitor comparisons. The reviewer checked its numbers against asking ChatGPT the same prompts directly and said the data matched, while cautioning that AI answers shift daily, so any single reading is only a snapshot. The review concludes the tool is good at showing what is happening but does not tell users what to do next, and suggests dedicated AI visibility tools such as Profound for users who only need tracking.

  3. Kroger to cut 37% of corporate roles in three-year tech push

Kroger plans to cut about 3,000 corporate roles over the next three years, roughly 37% of its 8,200 corporate employees, according to a memo CEO Greg Foran sent staff on Monday, 12 October. Foran cited simplification and technology as the two reasons, saying "technology is reshaping what's possible," though the memo does not specify how many roles AI will replace. Kroger outlined an AI strategy in September that includes demand forecasting, personalised savings, meal and cart planning tools and AI agents to help store teams prioritise daily tasks, plus AI training for more than 400,000 employees.

  4. The 8 best AI app builders for 2026, from Softr to Replit

This roundup argues the bar for AI app builders has shifted from producing a convincing mockup to producing something a team can actually log into: a database with the right tables, pages that read and write those records, and a login screen with roles. It ranks eight platforms — Softr first, followed by Lovable, Base44, Bubble, Glide, Retool and Replit — against criteria including prompt-to-app depth, running on existing data, users and roles, post-generation editing, pricing shape and free-tier quality. Pricing, ratings and feature details in the piece come largely from vendors and review sites such as G2 and can change.

  5. HubSpot cuts 660 jobs, 7% of staff, in pivot to AI outcomes

HubSpot is eliminating about 660 roles, roughly 7% of its workforce, under a plan its board authorised on 1 October and the CEO told staff about on Tuesday, the same day it reaffirmed revenue guidance. The company expects $65M–$75M in charges, mostly severance, after second-quarter revenue rose 20% to nearly $912M, while its shares are down about 45% this year. In a letter attached to its 8-K, CEO Yamini Rangan said HubSpot had shifted "from building software that helps customers grow to delivering outcomes for them with AI," while also saying the decision "is not driven by AI-related efficiencies." HubSpot expects the cuts to be substantially complete by the end of the first quarter of 2027, subject to local law and consultation requirements, with its Dublin European headquarters subject to Ireland's 30-day collective redundancy consultation rules.
