  1. Google quietly sends Pixel 11 series 30% discount codes to AI Pro subscribers

Google is emailing Google AI Pro subscribers 30% discount codes for the whole Pixel 11 lineup — the standard Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The email presents the offer as a subscriber benefit and also mentions 10% back in credit for future Google Store purchases, and the discount can be stacked with trade-in deals; one example in the report puts a Pixel 11 Pro at about $384 after trading in a Pixel 10 Pro. The codes only reach people already paying for the $19.99/month AI Pro plan, and Google has not publicly announced the promotion.

  2. Google AI Plus loses Gemini Pro model access on November 13

Google has begun emailing Google AI Plus subscribers to confirm that from November 13, 2026, selecting Pro models in the Gemini app and in AI Mode in Google Search will be limited to Google AI Pro subscribers and above, leaving AI Plus users with Flash and Flash Lite; existing Pro-model chats must be continued with a different model. Subscribers who want continued access to the more capable models would need to move up to the $19.99/month Google AI Pro plan or the $99.99/month AI Ultra plan. Google did not give a reason in the email, and the report says an October support document had previously suggested restrictions would take effect on October 9, with the email now setting the November 13 date. The change follows Google rolling out Gemini 4 Argon to AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers.

  3. Verizon gives eligible customers six months of Google AI Pro free

Verizon announced that eligible customers can get six months of Google AI Pro at no cost, whereas the perk was previously only a discount that still left users paying $10 per month alongside their phone or internet plan. Google AI Pro is Google's mid-tier AI plan, priced at $19.99 per month. Verizon is also including Verizon Family and Call Filter at no extra cost, giving free-tier Digital Secure subscribers one month of Digital Secure Premium, and previewing upcoming Verizon Shine loyalty experiences such as a Walt Disney Studios visit and Radio City Rockettes tickets.

  4. How to use Gemini Auto Browse in Chrome: setup, tasks and limits

Google's Gemini Auto Browse lets the assistant navigate websites, fill in forms, compare prices and complete multi-step tasks in Chrome on the user's behalf, but access is limited to eligible Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra subscribers. It launched in preview for US desktop users in January 2026; Google later added Android support and expanded availability to India on Oct. 7. Per Google's documentation, US personal desktop accounts need to be 18+, run the latest Chrome on a compatible Windows, macOS or Chromebook Plus device, use English as the device language, and have Standard or Enhanced Safe Browsing enabled; Incognito, iPhone and iPad are not supported. Google lists daily request limits of up to 20 for AI Pro and up to 200 for AI Ultra, and says sensitive actions such as purchases, sending communications, changing data and submitting forms require confirmation, while warning about mistakes, unexpected purchases and prompt injection.

  5. Five clever ways Gemini can automate everyday tasks

Engadget rounds up five ways to use Gemini for everyday automation: schedule a daily check of your calendar with estimated travel time between events, have it search the web and summarize news on a chosen topic at a set time, get weekly weekend suggestions for cafes and restaurants, and save repeat instructions as skills, which are replacing Gems and are invoked with a command like /skillname (Google says the @ symbol will be used soon). Subscribers to Google AI Pro or Ultra can also let Gemini Spark, the always-on agent, scan a week of email, summarize what matters, build a to-do list and add appointments to the calendar. The piece notes a limit of 10 scheduled actions at a time, that Spark is off by default and needs Gmail, Calendar and Drive connected, that Google says Spark checks with you before major actions, and that some features may be region-limited.

  6. Google Sheets canvas turns prompts into interactive mini-apps with Gemini

Google announced Sheets canvas on Aug. 13, 2026, as part of its continued expansion of Gemini in Workspace. Users describe a Kanban board, dashboard or planning tool in natural language, and Gemini generates an interactive read-write interface layered over an existing spreadsheet — dragging cards or changing statuses updates the source cells, and edits to the sheet appear in the canvas, all under the file's existing sharing permissions. Availability covers eligible Google Workspace Business and Enterprise Standard and Plus plans, Google AI Pro/Ultra personal accounts and Google AI Pro for Education, and is currently limited to Google Sheets on the web with the account language set to English and smart features enabled.

  7. Google Antigravity is now built into the Gemini app for macOS

Alongside the Gemini 4 Argon rollout, Google has integrated Antigravity directly into the Gemini app for macOS. A Liquid Glass button in the top-right corner launches the same full experience found in the standalone app, letting users build apps and web experiences from one place. The report says the new model requires AI Pro or above in the Gemini app, while Antigravity access requires AI Ultra. The macOS app also gains a Chat/Task switcher (Task is the new name for Gemini Spark), a Scheduled view, and @ mentions for Skills instead of the slash command, with Connectors replacing Connected Apps.

  8. Poll: Nearly 60% of readers call Google's Gemini tier downgrade unfair

An Android Authority reader poll found that, of more than 3,300 votes, just under 60% considered it unfair that Google pulled previously available Gemini model access from lower tiers. Google said earlier this month it would limit access to newer AI models for non-subscribers: the $4.99/month AI Plus tier now gets only Flash and Flash Lite models with Pro out of reach, free users lose access to newer Gemini models, and AI Pro and Ultra subscribers are unaffected; the change took effect last Friday. About 25% said the downgrade was fair only for free users but that AI Plus subscribers should have been spared, just under 13% said it was fair because “it’s a business,” and 3.3% commented. Some readers complained about losing benefits they had paid for and said they would not renew, while others criticized Gemini's answer quality versus ChatGPT.

  9. How to use Google Gemini Spark to automate tasks

Gemini Spark is an agentic personal assistant Google announced in May at its annual I/O developer conference; you give it a task and it can run in the background, taking what Google describes as "proactive action." Access requires a Google AI Pro or Ultra subscription (some business subscribers may also qualify) and "Keep activity" switched on, and the feature is unavailable in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, the UK and Nigeria. Tasks are created via Menu > Spark in the Gemini mobile, Mac or web app, and Google warns users not to put login or payment information into a task thread and to monitor tasks for potential mistakes.

  10. Google tightens Gemini tiers: free users limited to Flash-Lite from Oct 9

Google has updated a support page saying that from October 9 it will change Gemini access for personal accounts: free users will only get Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite and lose access to Gemini 3.6 Flash and newer models, while the $4.99/month AI Plus tier is limited to Flash and Flash-Lite and no longer includes higher-end reasoning models such as Gemini 3.1 Pro. The $19.99-and-up Google AI Pro and Ultra tiers are unaffected and keep Deep Think and advanced model access. Google is also introducing low, medium and high Effort modes that deduct quota based on task compute complexity, with higher modes draining the allowance faster.

  11. Google drops free access to Gemini Flash and Pro on October 9

Google's support document says that starting October 9, 2026, personal accounts without a paid Google AI plan will be limited to the Flash-Lite model in the Gemini app and website, losing access to Flash and Pro. The roughly $5/month AI Plus tier keeps Flash but also loses Pro (Engadget cites the Gemini 3.1 Pro model), while Pro and the Deep Think reasoning mode become limited to the pricier AI Pro (~$20) and Ultra (~$100) plans. Google is also adding low, medium and high "effort level" options per model, and Ultra subscribers will later get Gemini 4 Argon; one report says Gemini API, AI Studio and Workspace are unaffected for now.
