- Googlebook rolls out Linux terminal preview for AI agent workflows
Google announced a Linux terminal preview for Googlebook laptops, running in an isolated virtual machine and based on Debian, with support for tools such as apt, git and ssh plus Python, Node.js, Ruby, Go and Rust runtimes and automatic localhost port forwarding. Google says the terminal is meant as an entry point for AI agents and command-line workflows, where users can grant AI tools such as Google's Antigravity administrator privileges inside the VM; folders are shared only after permission and a one-click reset restores a clean environment. 9to5Google notes that unlike ChromeOS's earlier, more capable Linux app support, the Googlebook implementation is currently aimed at building with AI rather than running Linux apps; Google says Linux GUI apps will eventually appear in the app launcher, with USB passthrough, ADB debugging, dynamic memory and storage scaling, and GPU/NPU acceleration planned.

开源中国 · 🔥 0 - DHH says Rust is ~150x faster than Rails; devs find an unequal benchmark
At Rails World 2026 in late September, Ruby on Rails creator DHH said he stopped hand-writing code about four months ago and announced that 37signals' HEY will move to native clients with a Rust-rewritten backend. He then published a multi-language Campfire benchmark claiming Rust hit 36,260 requests per second on a chat-room page load — roughly 150x Rails, 50x Elixir and 9.4x Go. Developers who inspected the public repos found the Rust version had accumulated 398 commits in six days (380 by DHH) versus 3 each for Elixir and Go, with different task instructions for each agent, and called the comparison unfair. DHH responded that he didn't intervene in the implementations and only asked frontier agents to maximize performance.
36氪 人工智能 · 🔥 0 - Google pauses open-source bug bounty over AI-generated report surge
Google has temporarily paused new vulnerability submissions to its Open Source Software Vulnerability Rewards Program after a surge of automated reports overwhelmed human reviewers. The company said the vast majority of these reports contained invalid information or hallucinated vulnerability data, while supply-chain and particularly dangerous flaw reports remain eligible under stated exceptions.
