  1. GPT-6.1 Terra writing evaluation favors lower cost

A Towards AI evaluation tested GPT-6.1 Terra on 10 YouTube script-writing tasks, generating five drafts per task and scoring them blindly out of 100 with four LLM judges. GPT-6.1 Terra ranked 23rd overall in an evaluation of 84 models, while GPT-5.6 Terra ranked 15th. Its low-effort setting achieved overlapping Elo scores for less than half the cost of GPT-5.6 Terra at medium effort. On maximum effort, GPT-6.1 Terra used about 9,500 thinking tokens per draft and cost roughly three times as much without improving the writing score. Only one of the four judges, OpenAI's GPT-6.1 Sol, clearly preferred GPT-6.1 Terra; the other three scored it lower.

  2. Retell AI runs 100M monthly calls on OpenAI models

OpenAI reports that voice-AI platform Retell AI now serves more than 4,000 businesses, with monthly call volume growing from 30 million in early 2026 to over 100 million by September, and OpenAI models generating responses for 80% of those calls. Retell says customer resolution rates exceed 80%, citing Anker's reported 80.4% case resolution rate and a Net Promoter Score of 63, while Pine Park Health's scheduling agent reached a 55.7% booking rate. In its vCX benchmark dated October 13, 2026, GPT-6 Astra ranked first for instruction following at 89.7%, and Retell engineers use Codex for code research, feature building and debugging plus GPT-6 Astra's computer use to test front-end interfaces.

  3. OpenAI launches GPT-6.1 Terra for lower-cost computer use

OpenAI launched GPT-6.1 Terra, a model focused on visual reasoning, precise computer use, and workplace tasks such as interpreting technical drawings, filling forms, and editing videos. Standard API pricing is $1 per million input tokens, $0.05 per million cached-input tokens, and $5 per million output tokens. The model is available to Plus, Pro, Enterprise, and Edu users in ChatGPT Work and Codex, and through the API as gpt-6.1-terra. OpenAI reports that Terra matches GPT-6 Astra on Agents' Last Exam at one-tenth the price per token.

  4. Amazon Bedrock brings OpenAI GPT models to Canada

AWS says Amazon Bedrock cross-Region inference now makes GPT-5.6 Sol, Terra and Luna, GPT-6 Astra, Sol and Luna, and GPT-6.1 Sol available from Canada Central and Canada West (Calgary). Applications call the local Bedrock Runtime endpoint, while requests are routed to supported destination regions for inference; the models are accessible through the OpenAI Responses, Chat Completions and Bedrock Converse APIs. AWS says North American inference and data-residency controls are applied, while flagged content may be retained in the destination region for up to 30 days.

  5. Hands-on: Gemini 3.7 Flash is fast, but details lag

A Juejin blogger tested Google's newly updated Gemini 3.7 Flash inside Antigravity and reported that most tasks finished in under three minutes, compared with over an hour for GLM 5.3 he used as a baseline; however, the cyberpunk web page lacked detail, the astronomical watch render was missing hands, and the 3D pool game never got the table's six pockets right. The post cites a DeepMind announcement saying the model is stronger at coding, knowledge work and web development, and notes its benchmark screenshots for FrontierCode, DeepSWE, AutomationBench and Code Arena compare against second-tier rivals such as Sonnet 5 and Terra rather than top-tier models.
