  1. Google Builds HappyDelivery Multi-Agent Commerce Prototype

Google Developers Blog introduced HappyDelivery, a functional prototype that implements an earlier blueprint for conversational commerce using LangGraph, Gemini, FastAPI, and Google Cloud. The prototype uses a three-layer decoupled design for message ingress, session and cart persistence, and cognition, with specialized agents, deterministic financial tools, and an automated verification suite. Google also reported multi-agent latency of 2–4 seconds and emphasized that keeping calculations in deterministic tools is necessary for financial accuracy.

  2. Google Announces Agent Compute Engine for Isolated AI Agents

Google announced Agent Compute Engine, a service that assigns each AI agent a hardware-isolated microVM protected by its Titanium security architecture. The service already powers Gemini and is expected to open for preview in the coming months; idle agent VMs can pause automatically, while Agent Gateway keeps enterprise credentials outside the execution environment. Google also said its open-source Agent Substrate Kubernetes runtime can fit ten times as many agents on one server and completed suspend-and-resume operations in under 500 milliseconds in a test involving 200,000 agents.

  3. Agents CLI 1.8.0 adds first-party LangChain extension

Google says Agents CLI 1.5.0 introduced an Extension System that lets developers add or override commands without forking the tool, while version 1.8.0 added a first-party LangChain extension. The developer blog demonstrates scaffolding, running, deploying, and evaluating a LangChain agent, plus a custom extension that wraps deployment with an SBOM scan; Google also claims the original ADK path can ship to Cloud Run with observability and evaluations wired up in about 30 minutes.
