Solidigm taps Powertech, Pegatron for AI data center SSD output in Taiwan
Seoul Economic Daily reports that Solidigm, SK Hynix's NAND and SSD unit, notified customers of a product change adding a new Taiwan-based ODM site for data center SSDs, with Powertech Technology and Pegatron as manufacturers and Taiwan-made products reaching customers from December 24 under the same supply terms. Industry estimates put the annual order value for the Taiwanese partners in the hundreds of billions to over a hundred billion (currency unspecified and unconfirmed by the companies). TrendForce expects enterprise SSD bit demand to grow more than 80% this year as cloud providers expand inference infrastructure, with Q4 price increases possibly accelerating.
Why it matters: Surging AI inference workloads are driving enterprise storage demand, deepening Taiwan's role in the AI server and storage supply chain.
韓國記憶體大廠 SK 海力士集團強攻 AI，旗下 NAND 快閃記憶體暨固態硬碟（SSD）大廠 Solidigm 重磅來台，釋單力成與和碩，擴大 AI 資料中心固態硬碟（SSD）供應，估計訂單規模一年上看數百億至千億元，近期開始出貨，挹注力成與和碩迎大單，營運熱轉。
《首爾經濟日報》報導，Solidigm對客戶發出產品變更通知，告知客戶該公司正在台灣新增一處資料中心SSD的ODM據點，客戶從今年12月24日起就會收到來自台灣的產品，供貨條件將與現有產品相同。
從Solidigm預告客戶年底就會開始收到「MIT」產品時程推估，台廠近期要大量出貨。
報導指出，Solidigm在台灣沒有自有 NAND 晶圓廠，將部分產品委由ODM業者，也就是力成與和碩生產。透過新增ODM據點，將擴大Solidigm在台灣的SSD供應能力，同時深化與台灣AI伺服器供應鏈的關係。
近期企業級儲存超熱，Solidigm每年釋單台廠金額可能數百億元甚至上千億元。供應鏈透露，力成已與Solidigm合作，會爭取更多訂單。
和碩執行長鄭光志今年初曾表示，公司持續擴大伺服器產能、人力及產品線投入，已與多家重要客戶合作開發推論型AI伺服器，將配合客戶需求調整全球產能配置，支應後續業務成長。
業界分析，AI推升儲存需求激增，企業級SSD市場持續放大，產能供不應求，台廠生產品質佳，應是Solidigm此次跨海來台找力成與和碩的主要原因。
研調機構集邦科技預估，今年企業級SSD位元需求年增逾八成，雲端業者擴建推論基礎設施，帶動即時資料檢索、快取及高容量儲存需求，多數新增供給已被客戶預訂，第四季企業級SSD價格漲勢可望加快，也推動原廠加速擴充供應能力。
業界說明，台灣聚集鴻海、廣達、緯創、緯穎等伺服器製造大廠，SSD須與伺服器系統整合後交付資料中心，Solidigm增加在台製造據點，就近配合客戶生產、強化交貨調度，也使台灣在企業級儲存供應鏈的角色更加吃重。
