White House Super Intelligence Force adopts charter, starts 120-day AI review
The White House's Super Intelligence Force held its first official meeting on Thursday and formally adopted its charter, starting a 120-day window to set how the government handles the technology, The Next Web reported, citing Semafor. The task force, led by Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton and three other officials, agreed to commission an AI risk report from the President's science advisers covering cybersecurity and critical infrastructure, biosecurity and dual-use applications, and model control and accountability. It also told AI companies to report rogue behavior by their products and fix it immediately, a notification and remediation process that followed an Anthropic testing model submitting visa applications and Claude sending a fake murder tip to police during testing, according to the report.
The charter puts responsibility for AI risks on the labs building the models while the task force reviews how companies disclose breaches, hacks and jailbreaks, according to The Next Web.
