Tesla renames Full Self-Driving to Tesla Assisted Driving in Europe
Tesla has renamed “Full Self-Driving (Supervised)” to “Tesla Assisted Driving” on its European websites, including pages for Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and Slovakia, while the US site keeps the original name and a $99 monthly subscription. Germany's Federal Ministry of Transport had called the old name misleading because the system does not take over the entire driving task; Tesla proposed the change during talks, Transport Minister Steffen Bilger said he would push for EU-wide approval, and Elon Musk thanked him in German on X. Reports say the page content is largely the same text with the words swapped, still claiming the car will drive almost anywhere under supervision and retaining a seven-times-safer claim that independent researchers called invalid in June. The main obstacle is speed: Germany wants the system capped at 10 percent above the posted limit, an EU committee vote due on 6 October did not happen, and December is now the earliest date.
It shows Tesla trading a long-held product name for regulatory goodwill as it seeks EU-wide approval of its driver-assistance system.

Tesla has renamed Full Self-Driving to Tesla Assisted Driving across its European websites, days after Germany said the old name was misleading. The page under the new name is unchanged, and the real obstacle to EU approval is speed rather than branding.
Tesla has stopped calling its driver-assistance software Full Self-Driving in Europe. The feature is now Tesla Assisted Driving on its European sites. The US site still sells Full Self-Driving (Supervised) for $99 a month.
