StepFun's Step 5 Preview lands on Tencent WorkBuddy with two weeks free
StepFun announced on October 12 that its flagship Step 5 Preview model is now available on Tencent's all-scenario AI office workspace WorkBuddy, with exclusive free access from October 12 to October 25, 2026. WorkBuddy users can use the model for deep research, information retrieval, data analysis, and document and PPT generation, including sustained execution of multi-step tasks. Step 5 Preview launched on September 20 with a sparse MoE architecture, 600B total parameters and 27B activated, a 1M-token context window and native text and vision input; StepFun says it plans to open-source the full weights on October 15.
It shows Chinese flagship models reaching mainstream users through office-suite distribution, shifting competition toward product integration and real usage scenarios.
