Personal AI Agents Enter E-Commerce as 150-Plus Apps Resist Doubao
36Kr Artificial Intelligence reports that Alibaba launched the Qwen Go personal assistant on October 13 with shopping price protection, price comparison and other consumer services, then released Qwen Office Commerce Edition on October 14 for cross-platform merchant dashboards, trend analysis, creative generation and ROI optimization. On the same day, Doubao Phone Assistant said more than 150 applications, including Taobao, Alipay, Meituan, Pinduoduo and WeChat, had explicitly refused AI screen automation under its SAEP protocol. The report says these platforms are resisting unauthorized automation by external assistants, not AI itself, as such assistants could alter product ranking and traffic distribution outside their apps.
The reports show personal AI agents moving from shopping assistance toward cross-app execution, while major platforms restrict external automation to protect user relationships, traffic distribution and commercial controls. This makes platform access and cooperation central constraints on broader deployment.
