Apple Launches 24-Inch iMac With M6 Chip and N1 Wireless
Apple launched a 24-inch iMac powered by the M6 chip while retaining the M4 model's display and overall design. The M6 offers up to 12 CPU cores, 12 GPU cores and dual 16-core Neural Engines, with memory bandwidth of up to 170GB/s. Apple says the system provides up to 40% faster CPU performance, twice the graphics and storage performance and five times the on-device AI performance of the M4 model. It adds Apple's N1 chip for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, plus an optional 2.5Gb Ethernet adapter. Preorders begin October 28, with availability scheduled for November 6. The US starting price is $1,499.
The update brings Apple's M6 silicon, on-device AI positioning and newer wireless and wired connectivity to the iMac without changing its outward design.
