Nubia NaviX Ultra opens 300-slot 'Beta Lab' for in-development AI features
Nubia announced a "Beta Lab" program for its NaviX Ultra phone during the device's first evolution livestream, offering a limited 300 beta slots so users can try experimental internal features earlier, including in-development AI capabilities, and help turn ideas into official product features. The NaviX Ultra launched on September 16, built end-to-end under ZTE's Nubia with the Doubao Phone Assistant leading the AI assistant experience, and runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mobile platform. It comes in four colors (Dream, Blue Realm, black and white), with a subsidized starting price of 5,499 yuan; the 12GB+512GB model costs 5,999 yuan, 16GB+512GB 6,499 yuan and 16GB+1TB 7,499 yuan.
It shows phone makers handing unfinished AI features to a small group of users early to decide whether they should ship as official capabilities.
