A month in, Meta's Muse kicks off a personal-agent land grab
Meta launched its personal agent Muse in the US on Sept. 8, giving users a dedicated cloud computer where tasks keep running after the app is closed; internal data cited by The Information put weekly active instruction-givers above 3 million. Manus released Cue, a standalone personal agent app, on Sept. 28 with its own email, phone number, wallet and computer, while OpenAI introduced Dots on Sept. 29. Amazon blocked Muse on Sept. 20 over unauthorized AI agents, but Instacart said two days later it plans to plug grocery shopping into Muse; Reuters, citing Citi, reported on Oct. 6 that Muse revenue could exceed $27 billion by 2030.
Personal agents can make shopping and travel decisions before a user ever opens an app, shifting platform competition from attracting people to being chosen by their assistant — and deciding where the next order lands.

但二十天前，Manus 的“前任”更早走到了这里。9月8日，Meta 在美国推出 Muse，为用户配置专属云端电脑。公司称，关掉应用后，任务仍可以继续。9 月 29 日，OpenAI 宣布推出 dots，也让助理在两次对话之间继续工作，需要用户判断时再回来联系。
如果助理能接下“帮我安排出差”“把这周的生鲜买好”，一些选择就可能在用户打开购物或出行应用之前完成。过去，平台争取的是人来逛；以后，还得争取被人的助理选中。
