micro1 to spend $1bn licensing enterprise data for AI agent training
AI training-data company micro1 said it will spend $1bn over the next 12 months buying and licensing operational data from companies, with Citi and Hercules Capital providing the capital. Under its Company Data Partnerships programme, micro1 turns de-identified company data into reinforcement learning environments that mirror real business operations, where models and agents practise workflows, decisions and complex tasks. The company lists tiered payments — more than $100,000 for a qualified partnership, over $500,000 for large or ongoing multi-team datasets and over $1m for highly unique proprietary data — with companies keeping ownership, personal information removed "when relevant" and samples reviewable before use.
The supply of agent training data is shifting from public web text toward companies' internal process and decision records, which may become a key input for the next wave of capability gains.

AI training company micro1 will spend $1bn over the next 12 months buying and licensing operational data from companies. The San Francisco company announced the plan on Friday. Citi and Hercules Capital are providing the capital.
The money goes through micro1’s Company Data Partnerships programme. The company uses de-identified company data to build reinforcement learning environments that reflect real business operations. In them, AI models and agents learn to work through workflows, make decisions and complete complex tasks.
“Real business operations involve incomplete information, competing priorities and exceptions that require judgment,” micro1 said in its announcement.
