Meta gives Facebook users an AI-powered tool to customize their recommendation algorithm
Meta announced on October 13 local time that it is offering Facebook users an AI-driven recommendation customization tool called "Your algorithm," letting people manage personalized feeds using natural language. Users can add content-preference tags, and after marking items as "interested" or "not interested," Facebook asks a short series of follow-up questions to refine the ranking algorithm. Meta says LLMs can capture the interests, context and intent behind natural language, making recommendations adapt faster and more accurately to individual tastes.
It marks an attempt by a major social platform to hand users partial control over their recommendation algorithm, using LLMs to turn vague natural-language preferences into actionable ranking signals.
