MapQuest 上线监控图层，标注车牌识别摄像头位置
MapQuest 在其应用中加入“监控图层”（Surveillance Layer），用户可在“图层”菜单中开启后，在地图上看到已知的自动车牌识别（ALPR）摄像头位置，图标为小眼睛形状。MapQuest 在 Bluesky 表示，覆盖 Flock Safety、Motorola Solutions（Vigilant）、Genetec、Axis Communications、Axon、Leonardo（ELSAG）、Neology、Rekor、PlateSmart、Ubicquia、Verakda 等品牌的户外监控设备。CNET 记者实测称，点击图标可看到摄像头类型（如球机、固定式）和精确坐标，但未显示设备所属公司；MapQuest 未说明数据来源，也未回应 CNET 的置评请求。Tom's Hardware 称该图层还标出摄像头朝向，便于行人车辆绕开已知设备。
报道提到，全美已有超过 14 万台车牌识别摄像头，其数据汇入各地执法数据库，公民自由团体认为这构成大规模监控网络；MapQuest 的图层让用户能看到身边的已知摄像头位置。
The roads have eyes, and MapQuest can now show you where they are. The navigational app added a feature this week that lets you discover where Flock cameras and other automatic license plate readers are in your neighborhood and beyond.
In a post on Bluesky, MapQuest said its app shows locations of license plate readers from Flock and many other companies — Motorola Solutions (Vigilant), Genetec, Axis Communications, Axon, Leonardo (ELSAG), Neology, Rekor, PlateSmart, Ubicquia, Verkada and more.
To activate the feature, open the MapQuest app, tap the Layers icon and turn on the Surveillance option. You will then see tiny eyeballs on the map that indicate where license plate readers are located. If you click on an eyeball, it will show what type of license plate reader it is — dome or fixed, for example — and the exact coordinates.
