SK Hynix's Solidigm targets up to $150B valuation in record chip IPO
Reuters reported that Solidigm, SK Hynix's US subsidiary, has begun underwriter selection meetings with banks for an IPO as early as next year, targeting about $15 billion in proceeds and a valuation of up to $150 billion; SK Hynix said it is evaluating various options and has not confirmed a plan. Solidigm was created from the NAND flash and SSD business Intel sold to SK Hynix in 2020 for about $9 billion, and it pivoted to enterprise SSDs after losing more than 7 trillion won combined in 2022-2023 and exiting consumer products. SK Hynix results show Solidigm's first-half 2026 revenue of 12.25 trillion won, up 265% year on year, and net profit of 5.839 trillion won, driven by AI inference demand and rising enterprise SSD prices.
It shows how AI inference demand is reshaping semiconductor capital markets, with enterprise SSDs joining GPUs and HBM as critical AI infrastructure.
