Apple website hints full-size HomePod may gain Siri AI
According to IT之家, 9to5Mac, cnBeta and others, leaker @itspdfu flagged two clues on Apple's website suggesting existing full-size HomePods — likely only 2nd-generation models — may eventually support Siri AI: an image caption now reads "multi-colored Siri AI glow on top," and Siri example images use Siri AI's gradient glow style. Apple has separately confirmed that the HomePod mini 2 supports Siri AI, but that the feature will not be enabled at launch and will arrive in "a future software update"; on the mini 2, requests involving a user's personal context require pairing with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, and the S10 chip replaces the S5. Apple has not officially announced the upgrade for the larger model, and 9to5Mac notes the clues could simply be a website error.
If true, it would extend Siri AI beyond new hardware to existing smart speakers, making the smarter assistant a unifying selling point for Apple's smart-home entry points.
