Google open-sources ARTEMIS, an Android automation agent for coding IDEs
Google has published ARTEMIS on GitHub, a project whose README says it turns natural-language instructions into reliable Android automation, running cross-app end-to-end testing workflows and everyday tasks. It claims Model Context Protocol integration that lets assistants such as Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity and Windsurf drive real devices and collect Logcat output and screenshots, with a fast Flash mode (roughly 3–5 seconds per step) and a planning-and-verification Pro mode (roughly 15–40 seconds per step). The project also reports 99%+ task completion on Google Research's AndroidWorld benchmark of 100-plus multi-step tasks, a figure that is self-reported and not independently measured in the supplied material.
Per the project, ARTEMIS lets AI coding assistants drive real Android devices over MCP, bringing mobile automation into existing coding workflows.
ARTEMIS turns natural-language instructions into reliable Android automation. It automates end-to-end workflows, captures logs, and integrates seamlessly with AI coding assistants such as Antigravity, Codex, and Claude Code. It also achieves 99%+ success rate on AndroidWorld Benchmark.

Let AI assistants and test suites use real phones like a human.
