On 15 October, Faraday Future and FF EAI Robotics Ecosystem (FFR) launched the $2,490 FF Nova humanoid robot for developers, universities and schools, alongside the $299 FF Nova Mini for children aged eight and up. The companies call Nova the first embodied AI humanoid sold in the US for under $2,500, a claim The Next Web said it had not independently verified; according to its product page, the robot has 20 degrees of freedom, stands 49.7cm tall and weighs 2.8kg, supports ROS 2, can walk, wave and get back up after being knocked over, and can ride a detachable wheeled base, with a developer software package costing $390 and a training programme built on Nvidia's Isaac platform. The first 100 Nova units are invitation-only with 20 ready to ship now, and the launch follows FFR's agreement to buy FF's robotics business in an all-stock deal valued at about $200M, with FF expected to own about 65.7% of FFR after closing.
