HP's EliteBoard G2a keyboard PC gets Ryzen AI Pro 400 chips and a $3,000+ price
HP has listed its second-generation keyboard PC, the EliteBoard G2a, upgrading from the previous AMD Ryzen AI 300 series to Gorgon Point-based Ryzen AI PRO 400 chips: a 6-core/12-thread Ryzen AI 5 PRO 435 with Radeon 840M graphics or an 8-core/16-thread Ryzen AI 7 PRO 450 with Radeon 860M, both with an NPU rated at up to 50 TOPS. The unit measures roughly 358.1 × 118.7 × 17.9 mm and weighs about 670 grams, with backlit keys, built-in microphones and stereo speakers, two DDR5-5600 SO-DIMM slots (up to 64GB), up to 2TB of M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 storage, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, a 40Gbps USB4 port and a 10Gbps USB-C port, plus an optional 32Wh battery and fingerprint reader. Reports put the US base configuration (16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) at about $3,028–$3,053, with higher-end variants above $4,000; accounts of the first-generation EliteBoard G1a's starting price differ (Wccftech cites $899, TechSpot just over $1,500), though all agree the new model costs substantially more.
It shows vendors pushing NPU-equipped AI PCs into niche enterprise form factors like shared-desk hot-desking, though the steep pricing suggests it will stay a specialty product.
