Nanya Q3 gross margin hits 85.7% as DRAM shortage runs into early 2028
Nanya Technology reported Q3 2026 revenue of NT$133.649 billion, up 61.9% quarter-on-quarter and 611.7% year-on-year, with DRAM average selling prices rising more than 60% sequentially. Gross margin reached 85.7% (up 6.2 points), operating margin 80.0% and net margin 65.6%. General manager Pei-Ing Lee said AI compute demand has kept DRAM supply tight and that the shortage will persist into early 2028, with ASPs still rising and margins seen improving again in Q4. Nanya says AI infrastructure now accounts for over 20% of revenue and targets 40–50%+ by 2029–2030, while its AI ASIC memory project with a US West Coast customer has begun small-volume shipments.
AI compute demand is turning DRAM into a structurally scarce resource, and its pricing and capacity allocation will shape the cost and availability of AI servers and devices.
