CoreWeave falls 15.5% as co-founders keep selling stock
Neoclouds—young AI data center firms—sold off broadly as bad inflation data reinforced expectations of another interest rate hike, and CoreWeave was hit hardest with a 15.5% drop, fueled partly by chatter that its bonds were falling to worryingly low levels. Securities filings show CEO and co-founder Michael Intrator sold CoreWeave stock every week from April through the end of September, and fellow co-founders have also been selling regularly. Intrator told staff that building a new type of technology company inevitably brings periods when the market misunderstands and acts irrationally.
It highlights how debt-financed AI compute landlords are exposed to rate moves, and how steady insider selling can weigh on investor confidence.
