AWS launches Agent Toolkit for AWS with MCP servers and plugins for coding agents
AWS introduced the Agent Toolkit for AWS, an officially supported set of MCP servers, agent skills and plugins that help AI coding agents build, deploy and manage applications on AWS. It works with agents developers already use, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Kiro and fx, and ships plugins such as aws-core, aws-agents, aws-data-analytics, aws-agents-for-devsecops and aws-startup-advisor. AWS describes it as the successor to its AWS Labs MCP servers, skills and plugins, adding agent-specific IAM condition keys, CloudWatch metrics and CloudTrail audit logging; the project is released under the Apache-2.0 license.
A major cloud provider is packaging agent access to its platform as an official, governed toolkit, which can lower the friction of working with AWS.
