AMD launches Ryzen AI Halo developer platform with up to 192GB memory
AMD announced a new-generation Ryzen AI Halo developer platform built on the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor, with improvements over the first-generation device across CPU, GPU and NPU performance. The platform supports up to 192GB of LPDDR5X-8533 memory, with as much as 160GB allocatable as shared graphics memory — which AMD says makes running models larger than 300B parameters locally possible. The Linux version is priced at $7,299.99 (about 48,912 yuan at reported exchange rates), while a Windows version preloaded with Microsoft Project Zenith is to follow.
Carving out 160GB of shared VRAM lets developers run 300B-class models locally on a desktop-class machine, potentially reducing reliance on cloud inference.
