Delta Electronics expands Penang manufacturing as AI business reaches half of revenue
Delta Electronics said AI-related business now accounts for about half of revenue, including 25% from AI power solutions and 13% from liquid cooling. The company confirmed a new manufacturing site in Penang, Malaysia, with a five-year goal of gradually building capacity comparable to its Thailand operation. Expansion will depend on market demand, while the total investment and formal construction schedule remain undecided. Chairman Zheng Ping also said supply-chain shortages and delays in customer construction are making shipment timing less predictable despite strong order visibility.
The reports say AI data-center expansion is driving demand for Delta Electronics’ power and cooling solutions. Its Penang plan would add manufacturing capacity, while shortages and customer construction delays may affect the timing of shipments.
