MCP for Blender renames PyPI package and adds one-command installer
The community project MCP for Blender, formerly blender-mcp, says its PyPI package is now mcp-for-blender. Existing setups keep working: uvx blender-mcp still runs the server and no config change is required, while new installs should use mcp-for-blender. The README describes a one-command installer that installs uv if needed, finds MCP clients on the machine — Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Devin Desktop/Windsurf, OpenCode and Antigravity — lets the user choose which to set up, then installs and enables the Blender addon. It says existing config is kept by adding a blender entry and saving a .bak of each changed file. The project describes prompt-assisted 3D modeling, scene creation and manipulation with an LLM, and states it is a third-party integration not made by Blender and not affiliated with the official Blender Foundation.
Community plugin to control Blender 3D with any LLM of your choice. Not affiliated with the official Blender Foundation.
