Huawei opens public beta of three DevEco tools for HarmonyOS PC
According to Zhidx, Huawei on Oct 8 opened public beta of three HarmonyOS PC development tools: the visual IDE DevEco Studio (moving from invite-only testing), the AI development tool DevEco Code, and the AI capability suite DevEco CLI. The report describes a division of labor — DevEco Studio as the integrated development and multi-device debugging base, DevEco Code offering three layered modes (Goal, Plan, Build) for end-to-end agentic development, and DevEco CLI packaging the HarmonyOS toolset, official knowledge base and 70-plus Skills into command-line interfaces that AI agents can call. The report says HarmonyOS 6 and 7 hardware devices have passed 90 million units, driving demand for apps and agentic services.
Bundling system knowledge, debugging and Skills into the toolchain shows an OS vendor trying to absorb AI-assisted development natively rather than through third-party plugins.
