MetaCircle raises hundreds of millions of yuan in seed and seed+ rounds
InfoQ China reports that AI startup MetaCircle has closed seed and seed+ funding rounds totaling hundreds of millions of yuan, with the seed round led by Shunwei Capital and the seed+ round including Shanghai Semiconductor Industry Investment, 360 Strategic Investment and BV Baidu Ventures. The company says the money will go to core algorithm research, exploratory product work, hiring and evaluation benchmarks. Founded in May 2026, MetaCircle is led by Liu Ziming, an assistant professor at Tsinghua's Institute for AI who was a co-author of KAN; its "Meta Model" aims to learn relationships between architectures, training configurations and experimental outcomes to predict training performance and help design architectures. The report notes that predicting performance and autonomously designing better architectures are different capability levels, and that full evaluation conditions and reproducible results for its time-series and world-model experiments were not provided.
The company says the funding will support core algorithm research, product exploration, hiring and benchmark work including Architecture IQ, and that it plans a general Meta Model 1.0 next year.
