TrendForce: CSP capex to top $1.5T in 2027 as AI server output jumps over 90%
TrendForce's latest AI server industry research estimates that the top nine cloud service providers (CSPs) will spend more than $957 billion in total capital expenditure in 2026, up 106% year over year, and that 2027 capex could exceed $1.5 trillion, up 60% — both above its earlier forecasts — as hyperscalers expand investment in servers and AI infrastructure. The firm also projects that overall server output value will cross $1 trillion for the first time next year, with AI server output value rising to nearly $920 billion, up more than 90% year over year and accounting for about 81% of total server value.
The forecast frames AI infrastructure as the main driver of hyperscaler capital spending, offering a demand reference point for server and upstream chip supply chains.
