Geely and Google sign global partnership; first cars with Gemini-powered GAS due H2 2027
Geely Holding Group said on Oct. 16 that it has signed a global strategic partnership with Google to build a digital cockpit ecosystem for qualifying Geely-brand vehicles in overseas markets where Google services are available, using certified Google Automotive Services including the Gemini AI assistant, Google Maps and the in-car app store. The first models carrying these services are planned for the second half of 2027, with timing dependent on product development, regulatory compliance and market readiness. Geely described the deal as a deepening of long-standing cooperation—Polestar joined in 2020—and said Google's automotive services will gradually extend to more of its passenger-car brands, including Geely, Lynk & Co, Proton, Radar and smart.
It signals that the Gemini assistant is spreading through Google's automotive stack to overseas models from a major Chinese automaker.
