Xeal CEO Nikhil Bharadwaj said the company's utility contracts allow round-the-clock power at its EV charging sites, but average utilization is under 10%, leaving idle capacity he says could power roughly 130,000 homes or 110,000 Nvidia AI chips. In December, Xeal plans to place Nvidia AI server racks in custom protective metal containers the size of a parking space next to chargers in Chicago, Houston and Dallas parking lots, with about 48 chips per container; it says it has orders from compute customers for 100 such containers but declined to name them. Over the next 18 months Xeal aims to raise about $2 billion to build and deploy 1,000 containers, roughly 50,000 GPUs and 60 megawatts of power capacity.
