   Taiwan's AI dividend yet to spread; scholars urge wider chip supply-chain push

   Citing Central News Agency reporting, TechNews said WTO chief economist Robert Staiger sees no sign the AI boom is slowing, though he noted economists cannot confirm a bubble exists until it bursts, and that a bust would weigh on current trade growth. A University of Hong Kong business school vice dean, Deng Xiwei, said Taiwan benefits from the AI boom through its semiconductor specialization, but gains remain concentrated in specific industries; he urged deeper upstream and downstream supply-chain positioning plus related services. The report also noted the IMF raised its forecast for Taiwan's real GDP growth this year to 10.7% from 5.2% in April, the highest in the Asia-Pacific.
