- Google releases Gemini 4 Argon for complex professional work
Google released Gemini 4 Argon on October 19, saying it is available through the Gemini API to global developers and enterprises and to Google AI subscribers in Google Antigravity, the Gemini App and AI Mode in Search. Launch pricing is $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with a 95% discount on cached input tokens. Google says Argon leads other frontier models on benchmarks for coding, finance, legal, cybersecurity and science, including first place on the Vals index and 87% on the ERQA embodied-reasoning benchmark; those benchmark and productivity figures are vendor-reported.

An AWS Machine Learning Blog post describes how Tamnoon built Tami, an agentic cloud remediation orchestrator, on Amazon Bedrock. Tami ingests findings from CNAPP and cloud-native tools such as Wiz, CrowdStrike and AWS Security Hub, then uses four specialized agents — investigation, safety scoring, remediation and code generation — to produce fixes rated SAFE, RISKY or AWAITING DATA, with Bedrock Guardrails, a generate-and-review loop and human approval gating execution. Tamnoon says the approach cut critical cloud exposure by more than 90% in 90 days with zero production issues; those figures are the vendor's own and have not been independently verified.
AWS Machine Learning Blog · 🔥 0 - OpenAI in early talks to acquire security firm Trail of Bits
OpenAI is in early talks to buy Trail of Bits, a firm that finds and fixes vulnerabilities in open-source software, according to people familiar with the matter cited by The Information. The size of the potential deal could not be learned, and the discussions are ongoing and could fall apart. Founded in 2012 and based in New York, Trail of Bits develops and maintains more than 100 open-source security projects, including the Slither static analyzer and the Echidna fuzzer, and counts Google, Meta, Microsoft, Zoom and DARPA among its clients. The two organizations already worked together in June on "Patch the Planet," a program in which Trail of Bits engineers used OpenAI's Codex family of tools to find, review and patch vulnerabilities in popular open-source projects such as Python. The move is part of OpenAI's push to build a substantial cybersecurity business, where it competes with Anthropic on AI for vulnerability discovery.
