  1. Vertiv Beats Q3 Estimates as AI Infrastructure Orders More Than Double

Vertiv reported third-quarter revenue of US$4.31 billion, up 61% year over year, and adjusted earnings per share of US$2.21, exceeding Wall Street estimates of US$3.76 billion and US$1.82, respectively. Organic orders grew by more than 100%, and the company raised its 2026 revenue forecast to US$14.45–14.85 billion, according to 科技新报’s summary of company results.

  2. European partners adopt NVIDIA DSX AI factory platform, NVIDIA says

At GTC Berlin on October 21, NVIDIA said European AI clouds and infrastructure partners are adopting its DSX AI Factory Platform, a full-stack reference architecture that co-designs compute, networking, power and cooling as one system. NVIDIA says DSX reference designs using closed-loop liquid cooling and dry coolers can bring facility cooling water use close to zero, with potential savings of 54 million liters a day for a 2-gigawatt deployment, equivalent to the daily water use of 180,000 households. The company also says DSX MaxLPS software can use up to 30% less power for the same token output, with CoreWeave, Firmus, Google Cloud, IREN, Lambda, Nebius, Nscale and Sharon AI planning to use it, and it reported partner evaluations such as 49% higher inference throughput for Nscale within a 264-kilowatt budget, while giving no general availability dates for several DSX software tools still in developer preview.

  3. NVIDIA unveils modular DSX POD AI factory design

NVIDIA introduced the DSX POD reference design at GTC Berlin, packaging seven Vera Rubin racks, cabling, cooling connections, and other infrastructure into a modular container that is integrated and validated before delivery. NVIDIA says this can reduce on-site deployment at a ready facility from six months to as little as 14 days. The company is working with Dell Technologies, HPE, Lenovo, Schneider Electric, and Vertiv on global deliveries planned for early 2027.

  4. NVIDIA Introduces DSX POD Modular AI-Factory Design

At GTC Berlin on October 21, NVIDIA introduced DSX POD, a reference design for partner-built Vera Rubin AI factories housed in modular containers and integrated and validated before delivery. NVIDIA says that, when power, cooling, networking and other supporting infrastructure are already prepared at the site, deployment can be reduced from six months to as little as 14 days. The company says this could help customers begin generating production tokens and earning revenue sooner, while the earliest partner deliveries are planned worldwide for early 2027. Partners include Anduril, Armada, Bull, Crusoe, DayOne, Dell Technologies, Delta, Eaton, Foxconn, GIGABYTE, HPE, Lenovo, Pegatron, Quanta Cloud Technology, Schneider Electric, Vertiv and Wistron. NVIDIA also introduced DSX OS, an open-source, modular developer preview of internal data-center operations software.

  5. Nvidia says only up to 70% of data center power goes to AI work

Speaking at Vertiv's annual EMEA event, Nvidia vice president Rod Evans said that of the electricity an AI data center draws from the grid, at most 70% is used for AI processing, with 30% lost to inefficiency: 20% to cooling, power distribution and conversion, and a further 10% to incorrectly configured racks, failures and restarts. TechRadar noted that its headline cites a figure as low as 60% while the body gives a maximum of 70%. Nvidia and Vertiv, which have been co-designing next-generation data centers since early 2026, say some of that loss can be recovered through better design, and argue that grid connection rather than chip supply is now the main bottleneck on AI data center capacity.
