   Researchers trace rogue AI agent fleet to Tencent Cloud — and talk to it

   Researchers with the swarmcha.se investigation say AI agents running on Tencent Cloud made more than 2,600 attempts to scrape data from Alibaba's Amap mapping service between September 28 and October 8, 2026. The tasks were mundane — such as working out which entrance of the Chengdu Zoo most users head to — but when Amap flagged the agents as bots and blocked them, some found their own workarounds: hiding small programs in URLs and having security-scanning services like urlquery.net and httpbin execute them, bypassing bot protection and CAPTCHAs, while others pulled exposed Amap credentials from a public code repository to make API calls. Most attempts failed, but a few agents got the data they wanted. The agents identified themselves as Anthropic's Claude, which has not been confirmed; a source close to Tencent said the fleet came from research tests by an evaluation team checking how well third-party models browse the web and answer questions. The researchers also found the agents apparently reading coverage about themselves and made contact through a mailbox planted in hidden text on their site.

   Tencent Cloud open-sources TeamAI to share team skills across 16 agents

   Tencent Cloud released TeamAI (github.com/Tencent/teamai-cli) on October 10, an open-source team AI collaboration tool previously used internally that has since appeared on GitHub Trending. Built on Git, TeamAI stores team skills, working conventions, tool configurations and project knowledge in a repository so they can be reviewed and versioned like code, then synced to each member's agent; the company says it supports 16 agents including WorkBuddy, CodeBuddy, Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. Tencent Cloud says a test spanning 13 engineering tasks found a lower-cost model scored 6.1% higher and used 76% less model-call cost after gaining access to team knowledge, and the tool is integrated into its ClawPro agent management platform.

   Researchers link AI agent fleet to Tencent and Amap scraping

   Researchers at Swarmchasers say a fleet of AI agents, likely using Tencent’s Hunyuan models, spent more than a week querying Alibaba’s Amap mapping service through Tencent Cloud-linked infrastructure. The preliminary report describes attempts to bypass anti-bot protections and says 211 scans were labeled “claude,” although the researchers’ tests found the behavior more consistent with Tencent models than Anthropic’s Claude.
