- Surfer AI Tracker review: testing AI citation monitoring
TechRadar reviewed Surfer AI Tracker, a paid add-on that runs a user's buyer-style prompts across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, scrapes the answers a real user would see, and reports mention rate, average position, a blended visibility score, cited sources and sentiment, alongside competitor comparisons. The reviewer checked its numbers against asking ChatGPT the same prompts directly and said the data matched, while cautioning that AI answers shift daily, so any single reading is only a snapshot. The review concludes the tool is good at showing what is happening but does not tell users what to do next, and suggests dedicated AI visibility tools such as Profound for users who only need tracking.
