   OpenAI sets restricted access rules for GPT-Rosalind-6

   OpenAI’s GPT-Rosalind-6 System Card Addendum says the life-sciences model is available only to approved customers. Before granting access, OpenAI reviews whether applicants have a legitimate life-sciences or related mission, a credible use case, appropriate research and operational governance, and the ability to safely control access. Non-government applicants are also subject to business verification and compliance screening, while government applicants may use a trusted-access pathway for approved biosecurity, biosafety, public-health preparedness and biodefense cases. GPT-Rosalind-6 uses access requirements already applied to GPT-Rosalind-5.5 and does not broaden eligibility beyond earlier announcements such as the Rosalind Academic Plan. Approved enterprise customers must restrict access to authorized users, apply least-privilege and insider-risk controls, and use qualified human review before outputs inform experiments, publications or consequential decisions.

   OpenAI launches Rosalind Academic Plan with up to 30 free GPT-Rosalind seats

   OpenAI introduced the Rosalind Academic Plan, which gives academic labs at U.S. universities up to 30 Business Standard seats at no cost for up to 12 months, centered on GPT-Rosalind, its life-sciences model, plus the Rosalind Workbench for tool orchestration across medicinal chemistry, genomics and wet-lab assistance. Access requires trusted-access approval: OpenAI verifies the institution, the PI or lab lead and the intended use, then continues monitoring, with safety checks that account for approved research context in registered high-sensitivity cases and follow-ups when use is unclear. OpenAI says research data shared through the plan is not used to train its models by default, API access is not included, and labs at universities with an existing enterprise agreement must apply through that process.
