  1. Replit makes OpenAI's ChatGPT default, CEO says Anthropic split

Replit co-founder and CEO Amjad Masad said onstage at TechCrunch Disrupt that the company is no longer working with Anthropic, citing cost, partnership and performance, and that "ChatGPT is better now"; he said internal and public benchmarks show Sol and Astra perform better at building vibe-coded applications from scratch. He later clarified that customers can still access Anthropic models on the platform, but OpenAI's ChatGPT is now the default powering Replit Agent, and that Replit remains model agnostic. A person familiar with the partnership disputed his account, saying it was still in place, and a late-September Replit blog post listed Claude Fable 5 and Claude Fable 5.1 as models running in Replit Agent's production environment.

  2. Replit agent pulls Slack feedback into project edits

Replit's official X account demonstrated a workflow in which a user tells Replit to "use last week's feedback from #product_feedback to improve onboarding in my customer portal"; the agent then finds the project, pulls in the relevant feedback and starts the edit. Replit added that when the feedback applies to multiple projects, users can keep going in the same chat. The capabilities are described by Replit itself, and the post offers no independent demo, benchmark data or details on how the Slack integration works.

  3. Coding-agent market splits into four quadrants, analysis argues

A neutral analysis published by TMTPost (authored by Chen Chen, a QAX vice president) divides the AI coding-agent market into four quadrants along individual vs. enterprise and China vs. international axes, arguing the four groups are almost different businesses in business model and competitive factors. It cites annualized revenue of over $2.5B for Claude Code, over $2B for Cursor, about $1B for Codex and about $5.25B... (specifically ~$525M) for Replit, and an Amplifying study of 166.7 million attributable GitHub outputs showing the top three tools take 93% combined, with Claude Code alone at 80%. The piece also cites Gartner's estimate of a $9.8B–$11B annualized enterprise AI coding-agent market, and concludes that individual tools compete on model capability, experience and cost while enterprise platforms compete on controllability, trust and auditability, with harness engineering the decisive factor behind "Agent = Model + Harness."

  4. Replit Agent gains cross-project context, can edit existing projects from a new chat

Replit said it now keeps context across all of a user's projects, so a new chat can locate an existing project and edit it without opening that project first. According to Replit's posts, the Agent reads a project's files as context and runs the requested change as a background task, with links to review the changes and keep working. Replit also said users can ask from the same chat for updates such as pricing or design style across multiple projects; these are vendor claims.
